Cleveland Trade Days is Canceled

I regret to inform you that Cleveland Trade Days on September 7, 2019 and November 2, 2019 have been canceled until further notice. We do not have any other dates scheduled.

A sign permit issue came up that I was unaware of at the time of contract and wasn’t notified after the adoption of the June 2019 amendment which also covers special events at the Stancil Expo Center that places a burden on all vendor businesses who participate in our events.

I apologize for not asking about these permits prior to signing our rental contracts. It is common practice at other fairgrounds that the use of on-property signs is allowed by ordinance. It’s very unfortunate this is not the case here and I am deeply apologetic. In the meantime, the planning department is seeking clarification before we continue business.

Vendors have been issued full refunds of space rental payments. Please check your email accounts for a email with your refund instructions. You were also sent “IMPORTANT” emails directly from me as well. I’m deeply sorry for this, but I do not believe you should have to conform your signage strict to the code and pay for permits to display them at our authorized special events on a property designated for such activities, or be at risk of fines or more according to the judgement of visiting inspectors. I will make announcements if new and better information is obtained about this issue.

Thank all of you again for your support.

My deepest apologies,

Kristen M. Parker
